  • Centripetal Acceleration: Understanding Circular Motion
    The constant acceleration of an object moving in a circle is called centripetal acceleration.

    Here's why:

    * Centripetal means "center-seeking."

    * Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity.

    Even though the object's speed might be constant, its velocity is constantly changing because its direction is constantly changing. This change in velocity is what causes the centripetal acceleration.
