  • Understanding Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation
The force of gravity follows an inverse square law.

    This means:

    * The force of gravity is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the two objects.

    In simpler terms:

    * The farther apart two objects are, the weaker the gravitational force between them.

    * If you double the distance between two objects, the gravitational force between them will decrease to one-fourth of its original value.

This law was first proposed by Isaac Newton and is known as Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation.
