  • Understanding Balloon Rocket Propulsion: Newton's Third Law
The force that makes a balloon rocket go forward is Newton's Third Law of Motion: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

    Here's how it works:

    1. Action: When you blow air into a balloon and then release the opening, the air rushes out of the balloon.

    2. Reaction: As the air shoots out in one direction (backward), the balloon is propelled in the opposite direction (forward).

The faster the air comes out of the balloon, the more force is exerted on the balloon, and the faster it will move.
