    Here are the three states of matter in order from fastest to slowest sound travels through:

    1. Solids: Sound travels fastest through solids because the molecules are tightly packed together, allowing vibrations to transfer quickly.

    2. Liquids: Sound travels slower through liquids than solids because the molecules are more spread out and have more freedom to move around.

    3. Gases: Sound travels slowest through gases because the molecules are much further apart and collisions are less frequent.
