Velocity tells us two important things about motion:

1. Speed: Velocity indicates how fast an object is moving.

2. Direction: Velocity also tells us the direction in which the object is moving.

Think of it this way: If you're driving a car at 60 mph, you know how fast you're going (speed). But to fully describe your motion, you also need to know if you're driving north, south, east, or west (direction).
