  • Freezing Point vs. Solidification Point: Understanding the Terms
The freezing point of a material is also known as its solidification point.

While these terms refer to the same temperature, they are sometimes used in different contexts:

    * Freezing point is usually used to describe the temperature at which a liquid transitions to a solid state.

    * Solidification point can be used more generally to describe the transition from any state to a solid state, including from a gas (like when frost forms).

However, in most cases, "freezing point" and "solidification point" are interchangeable.
