  • Electromagnetic Waves: Key Properties Explained
Here are two properties of electromagnetic waves:

    1. They can travel through a vacuum: Unlike sound waves, which require a medium to travel, electromagnetic waves can propagate through the emptiness of space. This is how we receive light and heat from the sun.

    2. They travel at the speed of light: All electromagnetic waves travel at the same speed in a vacuum, approximately 299,792,458 meters per second. This speed is often denoted as "c".
