  • Understanding 0°C: The Freezing Point of Water
    At 0 degrees Celsius (0°C):

    * Water freezes. This is the freezing point of water at standard atmospheric pressure.

    * Water is in equilibrium between its liquid and solid states. This means that at 0°C, water can exist as both ice and liquid water simultaneously.

    * The temperature is equivalent to 32 degrees Fahrenheit (32°F).

It's important to note that 0°C is not the absolute zero point, which is the theoretical temperature at which all molecular motion stops. Absolute zero is -273.15°C.
