  • Understanding Work in Physics: Force, Distance, and Energy
    The use of force to move an object a certain distance is called work.

    Here's why:

    * Work in Physics: In physics, work is defined as the product of the force applied to an object and the distance the object moves in the direction of the force.

    * Formula: Work (W) = Force (F) x Distance (d)

    * Example: If you push a box with a force of 10 Newtons across a floor for 5 meters, you have done 50 Joules of work (10 N x 5 m = 50 J).

    So, whenever a force causes an object to move a certain distance, work is being done.
