  • What is Electric Current? Definition & Explanation
An electrical charge in motion is called electric current.

    Here's why:

    * Charge: Electricity is based on the movement of tiny particles called electrons, which carry a negative charge.

    * Motion: When these electrons move in a directed path, they create an electric current.

    * Current: The flow of electrical charge is measured in amperes (amps).

So, the flow of electrons through a wire, or any other conductive material, is what we call electric current.
