    Lightning bolts don't have a specific degree measurement. Here's why:

    * Lightning is a jagged, branching path: It's not a straight line, so you can't measure it with a single angle.

    * The path changes: Even within a single bolt, the path can change drastically as it travels.

    While we can't measure a lightning bolt's degrees, we can talk about the angle of its path relative to something else. For example, we could say a lightning bolt struck at a 45-degree angle to a tree.
