International Space Station Speed: How Fast Does It Travel?
The International Space Station (ISS) orbits the Earth at a speed of approximately 17,500 miles per hour (28,000 kilometers per hour). This is fast enough to complete an orbit of Earth every 90 minutes.
It's important to note that this speed is relative to the surface of the Earth. The ISS is actually traveling much faster relative to the Sun, but that speed is more complex to calculate and not as relevant to its day-to-day operations.
