  • Conduction Explained: How Heat Transfers Through Collisions
The transfer of heat by particles colliding with each other is called conduction.

    Here's why:

    * Conduction is the process where heat energy is transferred through direct contact between substances. When particles in a hotter substance collide with particles in a cooler substance, they transfer some of their kinetic energy. This results in the cooler substance gaining heat and the hotter substance losing heat.
