  • Understanding Compressibility: Which State of Matter Can't Be?
The state of matter that cannot be compressed is solid.

    Here's why:

    * Solids have a fixed shape and volume. Their particles are tightly packed together, leaving very little space for them to move closer.

    * Liquids can be compressed slightly, but their particles are still relatively close together.

    * Gases are easily compressible because their particles are far apart and have a lot of space to move into.
