  • Understanding Motor Magnet Interactions: Stator & Rotor Explained
The two magnets pushing and pulling against each other in a motor are called:

    * Stator - This is the stationary magnet or set of magnets. It's usually fixed to the outside of the motor.

    * Rotor - This is the rotating magnet or set of magnets. It's located inside the motor and spins as a result of the interaction with the stator.

The interaction between the stator and rotor magnetic fields causes the rotor to spin, which is what creates the mechanical energy that powers the motor.
