  • Neon Atomic Weight & Density: Understanding the Properties of Neon
Neon is a gas, so it doesn't have a weight in the same way a solid object does. However, we can talk about its atomic weight or its density.

    * Atomic Weight: Neon's atomic weight is 20.180 amu (atomic mass units). This means a single atom of neon weighs 20.180 times the mass of a proton.

    * Density: Neon gas has a density of 0.9002 g/L at standard temperature and pressure (STP, 0°C and 1 atm). This means one liter of neon gas weighs 0.9002 grams.

So, while you can't weigh neon like a rock, you can describe its weight in terms of its atomic weight or density.
