  • Key Properties of Fluid Pressure: Depth and Direction
Here are two properties of the pressure exerted on an object by a fluid:

    1. Pressure increases with depth: The deeper an object is submerged in a fluid, the greater the pressure it experiences. This is due to the weight of the fluid above it.

    2. Pressure acts equally in all directions: At a given point within a fluid, the pressure acts perpendicular to any surface it contacts, regardless of the orientation of that surface. This is known as Pascal's Principle.
