  • Graduated Cylinders & Beakers: Volume Measurement Tools
The two most common tools used to measure volume are:

    1. Graduated cylinder: This is a tall, cylindrical container with markings (graduations) along the side to indicate specific volumes. They are often made of glass or plastic and are designed for precise liquid volume measurements.

    2. Beaker: This is a wide-mouthed, cylindrical container with a spout for pouring. Although beakers are not as precise as graduated cylinders, they are commonly used for mixing and heating liquids. They also have volume markings, but these are less specific and typically only indicate approximate volumes.

There are, of course, many other tools for measuring volume depending on the specific situation, such as:

    * Measuring cups: Used in cooking and baking.

    * Syringes: Used for precise measurements of liquids in medical and scientific contexts.

    * Pipettes: Used for transferring and measuring small volumes of liquids.

    * Volumetric flask: Used for preparing precise solutions.
