  • Understanding Earth's Gravity: Force, Weight & Distance
Yes, the Earth exerts a force on every object due to gravity. This force is known as gravitational force or weight. It pulls objects towards the centre of the Earth. The magnitude of the gravitational force depends on the mass of the object and the distance between the object and the centre of the Earth. The greater the mass of the object, the stronger the gravitational force acting on it. Similarly, the closer an object is to the centre of the Earth, the stronger the gravitational force acting on it.
