  • Understanding Gravity and Space Shuttle Orbits
This is incorrect, gravity does, in fact, pull on a space shuttle. The space shuttle is in a state of freefall, constantly falling toward Earth due to gravity. However, because it is also moving forward at a very high speed, it never actually falls to Earth but instead continues to orbit the planet.
