  • Bar Magnets and Electricity: Understanding Conductivity
A bar magnet itself is not an electrical conductor. However, the material a bar magnet is made of, such as iron or nickel, can be a conductor of electricity. When a bar magnet is placed in an electric circuit, it does not allow the flow of electric current through it because the magnetic field in the magnet creates an opposing force against the flow of electric charges.
