  • Understanding Gravity: Why Things Fall Down
    When an object is thrown upward, the force of gravity, which is the pull of the Earth towards the object, acts upon it. This force opposes the object's upward motion and causes it to slow down until it reaches its highest point. At this point, the object's upward velocity becomes zero, and then gravity continues to pull the object downward.
