  • Insulators in Electrical Circuits: Definition & Examples
    The materials through which charges will not move easily are called insulators. Glass and rubber are both examples of insulators. Insulators are materials that do not allow the passage of electric current, or the movement of electric charges, through them. In other words, they have a high resistance to the flow of electric current. Insulators are generally made up of materials that lack free electrons, which are electrons not bound to any particular atom, and therefore cannot move freely to conduct electricity.
