  • Absolute Value in Physics: Understanding Magnitude & Applications
    Absolute value is a mathematical concept that refers to the magnitude or size of a number without regard to its sign. In physics, absolute value is used to describe the magnitude of physical quantities such as velocity, acceleration, and force.

    For example, if an object is moving at a velocity of 10 m/s, the absolute value of its velocity is 10 m/s, regardless of whether the object is moving in the positive or negative direction.

    Similarly, if a force of 10 N is applied to an object, the absolute value of the force is 10 N, regardless of the direction in which the force is applied.

    Absolute value is often used in physics to simplify calculations and to make it easier to compare the magnitudes of different physical quantities.
