  • Equal Volume, Different Mass: Understanding Density in Cubes
The ten cubes can have same volume but different masses because they can be made of different materials with different densities. Density is a measure of how much mass is packed into a given volume. For example, a cube made of lead will have a greater mass than a cube of the same size made of wood, even if they have the same volume. This is because lead is a denser material than wood.
