  • Understanding Light Dispersion: How Prisms Create Rainbows
    When light passes through a prism, it spreads out into a spectrum of colours. This is because the prism bends the different colours of light by different amounts, with violet light being bent the most and red light being bent the least. This spreading out of light is called dispersion.
