  • Understanding Weight: The Force of Gravity on Matter
The force with which gravity pulls on a quantity of matter is referred to as weight. Weight is a measure of the gravitational force acting on an object and is determined by the mass of the object and the gravitational field strength at its location. It is expressed in units of force, such as newtons (N) in the International System of Units (SI).
