  • Understanding Gravitational Force: Attraction Between Masses
The noncontact force that causes objects with mass to be attracted toward one another is called gravitational force. It is a fundamental force of nature that acts between any two objects with mass. The greater the mass of an object, the greater its gravitational force. The distance between two objects also affects the strength of the gravitational force between them. The closer two objects are, the stronger the gravitational force between them.
