  • Centripetal Acceleration: Identifying Non-Examples & Understanding the Concept
    Not examples of centripetal acceleration:

    - A car going around a curve: This is an example of tangential acceleration, not centripetal acceleration.

    - A person running around a track: This is also an example of tangential acceleration, not centripetal acceleration.

    - A ball thrown in the air: This is an example of projectile motion, not centripetal acceleration.

Centripetal acceleration is the acceleration of an object towards the center of a circular path. It is caused by a net force that is directed towards the center of the path. Examples of centripetal acceleration include:

    - A ball on a string being swung in a circle

    - A car going around a curve at a constant speed

    - A planet orbiting the sun
