  • Understanding Equilibrium: Rotation and Net Torque
A body cannot be in equilibrium if it is revolving clockwise under the action of a single torque.

Equilibrium is defined as the state of a body in which the net force acting on the body is zero. In other words, the body is not accelerating. If a body is revolving clockwise, it means that there is a net torque acting on the body in the clockwise direction. This net torque will cause the body to accelerate in the clockwise direction. Therefore, the body cannot be in equilibrium.
