An Air Parcel is defined as a quantity of air which has characteristics clearly distinguishable from the surrounding air. It possesses such specific characteristics such that it can be followed and/or identified for some distance across the landscape. These distinguishing characteristics may be derived from the air´s temperature, moisture, gas content, dust, pollution content or density.
