  • Desert Biomes: Hot & Cold Regions with Minimal Rainfall
The terrestrial biome that may be hot or cold but always has little precipitation is the desert biome.

    Here's why:

    * Low Precipitation: Deserts are characterized by receiving less than 10 inches of rainfall annually, making them extremely dry.

    * Temperature Variation: Deserts can experience extreme temperature fluctuations. Some are very hot (like the Sahara Desert), while others are cold (like the Gobi Desert).

Other biomes with low precipitation, such as the tundra, are generally very cold.
