  • Understanding Ecosystem Communities: Species and Interactions
The different species of an ecosystem are referred to as the community.

    Here's why:

    * Ecosystem: An ecosystem encompasses all the living organisms (biotic factors) within a specific area and their interactions with the non-living components (abiotic factors) like soil, water, and climate.

    * Community: Within an ecosystem, the community refers to the collection of all the different populations of species that live and interact within that specific area.

So, while the ecosystem is the whole system, the community is the collection of all the living species within it.
