  • Gravity and Objects: Do They All Fall to Earth?
Not quite! While it's true that most objects on Earth will fall towards the ground, there are some exceptions:

    * Objects in orbit: Satellites and the International Space Station, for example, are constantly falling towards Earth but also moving horizontally at a very high speed. This combination of falling and moving forward keeps them in orbit around the planet.

    * Objects in the air: Things like birds, airplanes, and even hot air balloons stay aloft due to forces like lift or buoyancy that counteract gravity.

    * Objects on very high mountains: If you were to stand on the peak of Mount Everest, you'd be further from the center of the Earth than someone standing at sea level. Technically, you'd be experiencing slightly less gravitational pull, but the difference is negligible.

So, while gravity does pull everything towards the center of the Earth, other forces can prevent objects from falling directly to the ground.
