  • Pitcher Plant Habitat: Where Do They Grow in the Rainforest?
Pitcher plants live in the forest floor layer of the rainforest.

    Here's why:

    * Sunlight: The forest floor receives very little sunlight, which is perfect for pitcher plants as they don't rely on photosynthesis for their food.

    * Moisture: The forest floor is a very moist environment, providing the necessary water for pitcher plants to thrive.

    * Insects: The forest floor is teeming with insects, which are the main food source for pitcher plants.

While some pitcher plant species might be found in the understory (the layer above the forest floor), most prefer the shaded, humid conditions of the forest floor.
