  • Why is Earth Blue? Understanding the Planet's Colors
The Earth appears blue from space because of the reflection of sunlight off the oceans. Water absorbs most wavelengths of light, but reflects blue light most strongly. This is why oceans appear blue.

However, the Earth isn't just blue! It's actually a mix of colors depending on what you're looking at:

    * Blue: Primarily due to the oceans, but also clouds and the atmosphere.

    * Green: From vegetation and landmasses.

    * White: From clouds, snow, and ice.

    * Brown: From deserts, mountains, and other landforms.

So, the Earth's color is a combination of these factors. While the blue is most prominent from space, the Earth is actually a diverse and vibrant planet with a stunning array of colors!
