  • Planetesimals: Understanding the Building Blocks of Planets
There's no official astronomical term called "planetisma." You might be thinking of planetesimals.

Planetesimals are small, rocky or icy bodies that formed in the early solar system. They are thought to be the building blocks of planets.

Here's what we know about planetesimals:

    * Formation: They formed from dust and gas in the protoplanetary disk surrounding the young Sun.

    * Size: They range in size from a few meters to hundreds of kilometers in diameter.

    * Composition: Their composition varies depending on their location in the disk. Those closer to the Sun tend to be rocky, while those farther out are mostly icy.

    * Role in Planet Formation: Through collisions and gravitational attraction, planetesimals eventually grew into the planets we see today.

If you had another term in mind, please let me know!
