* Asphalt: Dark asphalt absorbs most of the sunlight that hits it, reflecting very little.
* Dark clothing: Black clothing absorbs almost all visible light, making it very warm in the sun.
* Forest: A dense forest canopy absorbs a significant amount of sunlight, as the leaves and branches are dark.
* Soil: Dark, moist soil absorbs more light than dry, light-colored soil.
* Ocean water: Deep ocean water absorbs most wavelengths of light, particularly red light, giving it a dark blue appearance.
Albedo is a measure of how reflective a surface is. A perfect reflector would have an albedo of 1, while a perfect absorber would have an albedo of 0. Most objects have an albedo somewhere in between.
