  • Voyager 1: The Farthest Object from Earth - A Deep Dive
The object that has traveled the farthest distance away from Earth is Voyager 1.

    Here's why:

    * Launched in 1977: Voyager 1 is a space probe launched by NASA to study the outer solar system.

    * Interstellar Space: It crossed the heliopause (the boundary where the Sun's influence ends) in 2012, making it the first human-made object to enter interstellar space.

    * Current Distance: As of October 2023, Voyager 1 is approximately 157 Astronomical Units (AU) from Earth. One AU is the average distance between Earth and the Sun.

    * Continuous Travel: Voyager 1 continues to travel at a speed of about 38,000 miles per hour, so the distance will continue to increase.

While other spacecraft have also traveled to distant parts of the solar system, none have reached interstellar space like Voyager 1.
