  • Charles Darwin and the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection
The theory of evolution by natural selection was first described by Charles Darwin in his groundbreaking book, On the Origin of Species, published in 1859.

While Darwin is credited with the theory, it's important to note that Alfred Russel Wallace independently conceived of the same theory around the same time. However, Darwin's book provided a much more comprehensive and detailed explanation of the theory, which led to its widespread acceptance.
