  • Understanding Ecosystem Components: Biotic & Abiotic Factors
An ecosystem is made up of two main parts:

    1. Biotic factors: These are the living components of an ecosystem, including:

    * Plants: Producers that provide food and oxygen.

    * Animals: Consumers that feed on other organisms.

    * Fungi and bacteria: Decomposers that break down dead organisms and waste.

    2. Abiotic factors: These are the non-living components of an ecosystem, including:

    * Sunlight: Provides energy for producers.

    * Water: Essential for life processes.

    * Temperature: Affects the rate of biological processes.

    * Soil: Provides nutrients and support for plants.

    * Air: Provides oxygen for breathing.

These two parts are interconnected and rely on each other for survival.
