  • Rainforest Biodiversity: Estimating the Number of Species
It's impossible to give an exact number for the number of species in rainforests, but scientists estimate that over half of all species on Earth live in rainforests.

Here's why it's so difficult to get a precise number:

    * Vast unexplored areas: Rainforests are incredibly diverse and many areas remain unexplored.

    * New discoveries: New species are constantly being discovered in rainforests.

    * Difficulties in identification: Some species are very small or difficult to distinguish, making them hard to count.

While we don't have a specific number, the sheer biodiversity of rainforests is staggering.
