    3. Density: This relates the mass of an object to its volume. It tells you how much mass is packed into a given amount of space. For example, a block of lead is denser than a block of wood of the same size because the lead has more mass in the same volume.

    These are just three basic properties, and there are many others that scientists use to describe matter.
