    * Blasting: Sometimes, blasting is used to break up rock for construction purposes. This can cause rocks to fall, especially if the blasting is not done carefully.

    * Climate change: Melting glaciers and permafrost can cause unstable slopes and increase the frequency of rockfalls.

    Other Factors:

    * Rock type: Some types of rock are more prone to falling than others. For example, sedimentary rocks are often more fragile than igneous or metamorphic rocks.

    * Slope angle: The steeper the slope, the more likely it is that a rock will fall.

    * Vegetation: Vegetation can help to stabilize slopes and prevent rockfalls. However, if trees are cut down or removed, the risk of rockfalls can increase.
