  • Volcanic Impacts on Trees: Destruction and Survival
There isn't a specific type of tree that is "flung out" from volcanoes. Volcanoes erupt with molten rock (lava), ash, gas, and other debris, and trees are not a component of that material.

It's possible you might be thinking of the following:

    * Trees being destroyed by volcanic eruptions: Volcanoes can cause widespread destruction, including the burning and burying of trees. The intense heat from lava flows and the force of pyroclastic flows (fast-moving currents of hot gas and debris) can obliterate entire forests.

    * Trees growing near volcanoes: Some tree species are able to grow in the harsh conditions near volcanoes, such as in volcanic soil or areas with high sulfur content. These trees might be seen near the base of volcanoes, but they are not launched from the volcano itself.

So, while trees aren't ejected from volcanoes, they can be affected by volcanic activity in a variety of ways.
