    * Adaptation: Living things evolve over time in response to changes in their environment. They can adapt to survive and reproduce.

    * Homeostasis: Living things maintain a stable internal environment, despite changes in the external environment. This includes regulating temperature, pH, and water balance.

    * Responsiveness: Living things react to stimuli from their surroundings. This includes movements, responses to light, and communication with other organisms.

    Non-Living Things:

    * Lack of Organization: Non-living things are not organized into cells. They may have structures, but these are not organized in the same way as living things.
