  • Alfred Russel Wallace: Darwin's Co-Discoverer of Natural Selection
While Charles Darwin is often credited with the theory of natural selection, he wasn't the only one who came up with the idea. Alfred Russel Wallace independently developed a very similar theory around the same time.

Darwin and Wallace both presented their theories together at a scientific meeting in 1858, and Darwin's book "On the Origin of Species" solidified the concept of natural selection in the scientific community.

So, it's important to remember that Alfred Russel Wallace is the co-discoverer of the principle of natural selection, not just a single person.
