  • Belgium's Diverse Landscape: Ardennes & Central Plain
The landscape of Belgium is varied, but can be broadly divided into three main regions:

The Ardennes: The Ardennes is a heavily forested region in the southeastern part of Belgium. It is characterized by rolling hills, deep valleys, and fast-flowing rivers. The highest point in Belgium, the Signal de Botrange, is located in the Ardennes.

The Central Plain: The Central Plain is a fertile agricultural region that stretches across the center of Belgium. It is characterized by gently rolling hills and a dense network of rivers and canals. The major cities of Brussels, Antwerp, and Liège are all located in the Central Plain.

The Coastal Plain: The Coastal Plain is a narrow strip of land along the North Sea coast. It is characterized by sandy beaches, dunes, and polders (land reclaimed from the sea). The major cities of Ostend, Bruges, and De Panne are all located on the Coastal Plain.
