Erosion is the process of wearing away of the earth's surface by water, wind, ice, and other geological activities. In this case, the raindrops are constantly falling on the stone and eroding it, creating a hole in it over time. This is an example of physical weathering, where the physical structure of the rock is broken down by the force of water.
