Two types of natural resources found on Earth are renewable resources and non-renewable resources.

- Renewable resources are resources that can be replenished naturally on a human timescale. Examples include sunlight, wind, water, and biomass (plant and animal matter).

- Non-renewable resources are finite resources that cannot be replenished on a human timescale. Examples include fossil fuels (oil, gas, coal), metals (gold, silver, copper), and minerals (sand, gravel, limestone).
